The Colab, currently registered as Colab Communications is an Ethically Focused Communications Agency which helps you develop people friendly communications strategies. Using Design, On and Offline Media, and a collaborative approach, I help bring people and companies closer together. I want to help create healthy web brands and a positive society.

I founded The-Colab.com after spending 8 months on a Business Development Program Known as VeloCITI hosted at the bandwidth Barn in Cape Town. The Colab stands for Communications Lab and is a play on the word collaboration because of the approach we use in collaborating with complimentary skilled individuals and companies in order to produce the products and services we create.

I’ve just recently hosted my own WordPress & Web Development Course which ran over a period of about 6 weeks and saw a group of individuals with little or no web skills through the process of learning to build their own websites from complete scratch.

Period: 2010 – Present

Since November 2010 a large portion of my work has been devoted to a US based web marketing company Gotcha Local Marketing. I’ve been responsible for Designing, Developing & Consulting on various web based projects, assisting with A/B split testing, creating online marketing campaigns, various sophisticated WordPress Themed and a range of other design and web maintenance service. The company specialises in developing niche marketing web marketing programs and as ventured into setting up a few startup ventures, none of which I can mention by name at this point.

Period: 2008 – 2011

Teaching part time classes on screen design theory, HTML & CSS & WordPress Theme Development. I developed the WordPress Theme Development curriculum as well as a Screen Design Theory Curriculum for some of the courses covered. I’ve also serviced various clients on behalf of Friends of Design including the Auditor General’s Office of Botswana, Multichoice DSTV in Johannesburg and CPUT where I taught their students a 5 week web development course.

VeloCITI (Business Incubation Programme – CITI.org.za)

Detail: Accepted onto a government sponsored business development programme called VeloCITI which takes 15 startup tech companies through the steps in getting our businesses off the ground from scratch.
